<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>El Island X-Prix tuvo un final dramático después de que El Matador deba ser trasladado a un centro de salud para atenderlo tras un fuerte golpe en la largada de la carrera final. Su equipo confirmó que el español se encuentra fuera de peligro. El team de Rosberg fue penalizado por el hecho.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Carlos Sainz sufrió un aparatoso accidente en la isla de Cerdeña, donde se disputó una nueva fecha del calendario 2022 de la Extreme E, la categoría eléctrica de rally.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">El siniestro ocurrió durante la largada de la carrera final, a la que acceden los equipos que ganaron las rondas previas a lo largo del fin de semana. El equipo Acciona, integrado por el veterano piloto español y su compatriota Laia Sanz, estaba luchando en esos primeros kilómetros frente a los equipos Chip Ganassi, JBXE, Rosberg X Racing y Xite Energy.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Tras una estupenda largada, Carlos Sainz y Johan Kristoffersson, del equipo de Rosberg, quedaron emparejados. Pero el sueco, que estaba perdiendo la posición, embistió de forma violenta al Matador, cuyo vehículo quedó volcado y sin chances de volver.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">La carrera continuó y el equipo Rosberg X Racing fue el polémico ganador, declarado por la transmisión oficial del evento, aunque la maniobra del accidente estaba aún bajo investigación.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Una hora después, RxR recibiría una sanción de 30 segundos por el accidente. Así, el triunfo lo heredó el Chip Ganassi Racing con Sara Price y Kyle LeDuc como dupla.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Mientras, Carlos Sainz fue trasladado al hospital de forma preventiva, donde se constató que estaba fuera de peligro pese al fuerte impacto tras someterse a pruebas médicas, según informó su equipo.</p>
